Why guys can't shop for ladies... very funny!!

I was a troublemaker in primary school and got disciplined a lot for it -kneeling, detention, manual labour,  lashes, you name them. So when it comes to punishment, I am a well experienced guy, but the single greatest punishment I have ever received was on the day I made the mistake of going clothes shopping  for my girlfriends and mum.

You see, I went alone with energy and confidence and it felt kind of good to walk through the accessories section and discover how cheap the chains and earrings were. No wonder ladies buy lots of them. But when I glanced at the time and saw that three hours had passed and I was still in the shop not  knowing what to buy, or if to buy in the first place, frustration set in, hunger topped it, tiredness wrapped it and my confidence vanished! That is where my day took a turn for the worse!

The first action I took was a wrong move. This lady next to me was checking out similar clothes. So  without thinking twice I blurted out something like this... 'Hi, you look like my mother....what size do you wear, I'm trying to pick a dress for her'. My foolish self thought she smiled and tried to be helpful, but now I'm wiser and I know she only heard the first part of the sentence. '' you look like my mother' . Well, that sentence is the most powerful way to completely damage the confidence of a 19 year old!

Next, I decided to take a closer look at a row of trendy cute blouses. Actually, a row of cute blouses invited me to come closer. I obliged and went straight to the middle row and started feeling the fabric. I was lost in the feeling until I raised my head and found myself in the middle of a circle of 50 year old women wearing only brassieres - they were trying the dresses on and had their backs to me but when I raised my head, they all turned at the same time and started moving towards me from all sides... My heart stopped beating. They headed straight for me, one by one they got in front of me and bent over.

It was to pick their dresses and scurry off (I was practically standing on the clothes they took off to try the dresses).  I think one of them gave your boy a wink and a friendly tug on the arm. No, I didn’t take her number!

I was so embarrassed, I nearly peed on myself. As soon as they were gone, I rushed straight to a washroom, spotted an empty cubicle and opened my zip. Just then the cubicle door opened. Just imagine this, an old woman gets out of a female toilet cubicle in an empty washroom and meets a fit and athletic looking man with his zip opened and clutching his you-know-what! She didn’t scream or call the police, but the speed with which she vanished probably hurt me more than spending a month in jail for sexual harassment.

I can't remember how i got home that evening, but before I slept that night, I swore thunder, fire, brimstone and any combination of the three never to go shopping for ladies again. From this experience, I have developed the 10 commandments of shopping for a lady, what do you think some of the rules are?  Like us on Facebook and leave a comment!

Ghana vs Egypt - 3 things you must know!!

There is a long list of legendary footballers who have never tasted the joy of playing in the world cup. Abedi Pele, Kwesi Appiah, Anthony Yeboah, Ahmed Hassan, Hossam Hassan of Egypt and George Weah  all fall in this list. If Ghana beats Egypt, Mohamed Aboutrika will join this unfortunate list. With 90 minutes or more to know who eventually makes it to Brazil 2014, Newaccra’s football lover, Senam, puts together four interesting things we must all know about this game:

1.   Local champions, world challengers

Majority of the Pharaohs players have won the African cup of nations an unprecedented three times but have never played at the world cup.Majority of the Black Stars players have played in the World Cup at least once but have never won the African cup!

2.   Bob 'Ghana Ba' Bradley

Any time I hear Egypt coach Bob Bradley and Ghana, it reminds me of Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho. Arsenal fans will hate me for this but 9 matches between them and no win for Arsene Wenger. Bob is gradually showing that he certainly doesn’t have a solution when Ghana is involved. After three matches and still no win for Bob, a draw will certainly put a smile on his face.

3.   VICKILEAKS

Do you know why there isn’t so much noise about this game? It's because most Ghanaians were too shocked to talk when a not-so-secret tape revealed that the black stars were walking home with GHC30, 000 from winning just their first game against Egypt. After recovering from that shock, Ghanaians have now been sent into a deadly coma by the 2 million Ghana cedis that Emirates Airlines has promised to the Pharaohs if they beat Ghana.

It is very simple to understand why. If you are employed in Ghana and you save 200 GHC from your monthly salary, it will take you 50 years to raise the amount each Egyptian player will take home if they beat Ghana (120 thousand GHC).You will probably be close to your grave before you finish saving that kind of money!

Ever since this gargantuan package was announced, we have seen footballers on the beaches in Accra training harder, some of them have even already applied for Egyptian nationality!

Bonus - Sweet Revenge

In January 2010, Ghana was so close to winning our first African cup since 1982. Egypt denied us that chance. We were devastated. We cried. We went home. Now, we are here to get our share of the cake and to make sure they watch us on TV bring back the first ever world cup to African soil! After all, this is Ghana! If we can’t do it, then it can’t be done! And when we defeat Egypt, they will take it easy. After all Ghana’s first prime minister married an Egyptian woman! And some of us won’t mind a sweet Egyptian lover either. It’s all love between us!

May the best qualify for Brazil! Like us on Facebook for more football stuff from Senam!

What is sexy about this hotel room?

A panel of judges at the Smith Hotel Awards have just voted this room in Blakes Hotel, London as the World's sexiest hotel!

Now take your sweet time and check it out, exactly what is sexy about this hotel room? Couldn't find anything? you are not alone!

One problem with things like this is the difference in people's tastes. What is sexy to one person might be totally disgusting to another. Don't you know people who will throw up at the mere  thought of something that others find incredibly sexy?

But to be fair, most of us are only looking at the pictures of this room but softer elements like mood, ambience etc cannot be captured in a photograph. So maybe the organizers should give anybody reading this a free 3 night's stay complete with chauffeur, spa and dates for singles. Then after we spend a romantic night there with our special someone, we can judge!

But on a more serious note, just imagine a hotel awards competition in Ghana. Choosing from the hotels you have slept in, which hotel will you nominate for the following awards
  • Sexiest hotel room in Ghana (sorry your house doesn't qualify)
  • Worst internet service
  • Hotel room with the shallowest pool
  • Worst customer service
Lets vote now!

Eclipse Sunday, did you catch it?

Are you ready to laugh? Just take a look at comments people are passing about the partial eclipse that just occurred in Ghana moments ago! Don't we just love being Ghanaians? we are so good at reading strange meanings into everything that happens. From football to the eclipse. Get ready to laugh!

5. Spirituality
Two spiritualists claimed they saw the eclipse in the palm of their hand at least one hour before everybody else.. Meanwhile a self styled prophet claims the half-eclipse means a popular personality will half-die and only a half-day fasting exercise by half the country can half-save the person!

4. Dumsor
ECG lights out!, Light off special  - eclipse edition. By the way, we just heard that there was a pre-eclipse party somewhere in the city, and an eclipse after-party (one big celebrity will be there). Dress code ; eclipse sunglases!

3. Lotto
As you read this, some people are going to try their luck at the lottery with the date and time of the eclipse. Lucky numbers to stake 3  -11 -13 . Remember your turning numbers!

2.Politics.
NPP Supporters; 'This current government is useless. Look, in our time we saw a total eclipse. That means we produced a total transformation of the country. We are the best'
NDC Supporters; 'Listen, you people dragged Ghana into total darkness. We have produced a half-eclipse. that means we have solved half of Ghana's problems in just half of our term'

1.  Naming
A few babies were born during the eclipse. Some kind Ghanaians are suggesting names for such lucky babies. For girls-  Eclipsina, Eclipstus (this is unisex),  Kwesi Eclipse, Akosua Eclipsia, Clipsally (female), Eclipse Betagana / Eclipsana Bitagana (depending on the colour of your flag) Solarin Eclipsin (Errm doesn't this sound too much like a word from biology ?)

What other strange meaning have you heard? Share

Terry Bonchaka, 10 years already?

Hi Terry,
It is very scary but necessary that we celebrate your 10th annivesary
You are still fresh in memory even though you exit very early

Today's poor performers are pulling each other down and producing poor compositions,
you were pulling people with powerful performances and 'Pulele' poses.
Today's acts are boring copy cats, dropping off-topic raps in boring imitations
you were making masterful musical melodies in your  original 'afro moses'

Sadly, we will never know this
When heaven called you, you couldn't serve us notice?
And you had to drive with the licence of a novice?
But, in our pain we'll forever hold this - the hope that you know peace.
October 30 was a sad day for Ghana showbiz.
