Recharge your life this weekend in 3 fun ways

----

Are you going to have a busy time at work or in school next week ? Use this weekend to recharge your life, so when Monday comes knocking, you can answer with a smile. Treat yourself well like this;

FRIDAY - Follow the leader

Who are the top five leaders in your field? Find them on Facebook, twitter or whatever social network you belong to and follow their pages. A lot of them put out useful information, some of them even answer one-on-one questions in a private message. Achievement is contagious and you can catch the success craze just by being within sneezing distance of achievers.

In the past two years, the friends I met on social media have influenced me most positively than any others in my entire life. For example, I recently signed the deal to be one of the major writers of Newaccra Magazine because a Facebook friend of mine introduced me to the editor. I am yet to meet both of them in person. So, don’t splash your online profile with unnecessary material. Upload more of your creative writing, videos, poems, music, fashion creations etc. You have no idea who is watching.
Time needed:  10 Minutes
Sound track:    Efya - best in me
Difficulty level: Easier than taking selfies

SATURDAY  -Read and relax

It doesn't matter what they do or who they are, all successful people have at least one thing in common - they read way more than the average person. Reading is life's best shortcut because in minutes, you gain the knowledge that took people years to experience. This is why some consulting firms welcome their new hires with a stack of carefully selected books so they hit the ground running with ease.

There is however a catch - watch what you read this weekend. Don't waste your brain on sources that pass off opinion as fact, mask feelings as logic and lean on arguments that are weaker than the Zimbabwean dollar. How do you identify quality material? just check who they read and who reads them. If the top people in your industry quote a source, its a good idea to check it out, but if the material is only popular among do-nothings, you are better off sleeping!
Time needed:  60 Minutes
Sound Track: Nas - I can
Difficulty level: Easier than living in ignorance

SUNDAY -Practice public speaking.

The fear of public speaking is called - glossophobia because if you want to succeed in life, this is one skill for which there's no glossing over!  Did you know that 3 out of every 4 persons (including some of the best speakers you know) have this fear ? A lot of them overcame it with practice, practice and more practice.

Use this powerful trick. Practice with a mirror - the bigger, the better. First, watch one of these videos of somebody who knows how to deliver a speech, maybe Dumor, Obama, Oprah, or Adichie. Second, draft a quick speech on a topic you like and practice in front of your mirror. Watch your gestures critically and try and look as convincing as the speaker in the video you just watched. Repeat as many times as you can till you appear convincing to yourself.
Time needed: 20 minutes
Difficulty Level: Easier than finding good excuses

We guarantee that after a recharged weekend, your Monday morning selfies may look better ! Do you have any other interesting ways to recharge ? Share in a comment and enjoy your weekend.

Monday

No more boring ... Do something different this Valentine.

Are you tired of doing the same old things every Valentine's day? Do you fancy something different for a change? Newaccra Lifestyle Magazine has done all the hardwork for you. We called our friends at Pleasure Sights, a rising tourism company, and asked them to give us a roundup of five cool places that will simply blow you out of this world. They showed us these sweet spots!

So  go on, call your special someone and check out these spots on Val's day!

Love overlooking the lake

VRA Maritime Club – Akosombo
Picture you two huddled up on a wonderful lakefront well-hidden from the troubles of the city. No noise, no loud music, just you and your boo.

You get watersports and a good meal. If you fancy a cruise, ‘Ohemaa LXI' is available. Its takes 20 people, so you can call up 9 other couples for an all-couple-cruise!

True love is natural
Celebrate your love on maybe one of the cleanest beachfronts in Africa! Your bed will be in a traditional hut for a village experience and you will enjoy the sweet breeze as you take a romantic walk on the night beach hand in hand.

What's more, you can visit the village on silt (Nzulezu) or take a sea trip to sight whales. And oh, you might sight turtles on your night beach walk!

The theme of love

If you are looking for a touch of class to impress that important person, you should check out this plush hotel that has themed rooms.  Start by choosing a theme that touches his / her heart. Then spoil them with a meal in the good looking dining area.

The rest of the night is up to you...

Love in a Japanese pot
This surprise will blow the candles out for a new love who appreciates something different, like Japanese cuisine!

A high class Suchi Bar that has  a well-defined package for two persons. The décor is so different and cool, your friends will keep asking where you took those pictures. This is a cute start to a romantic weekend !

The heights of love

Imagine passionate nights, breathtaking views and extremely cool weather from a mountaintop.

Then add sightseeing or photographing Mount Gemi, Ote Falls or the Biakpa mountain paradise, monkeys at the Tafi Atome Monkey sanctuary and live Borborbor music in the evening.

He / she will remember this for a long time!

So go ahead, make this valentine truly unforgettable.Remember no one is in charge of your happiness, but you!
